Annual Flower Show 2010 was held on 4 – 7 February, 2010 at the society’s lawn. The show was opened by Air Commodore B.C. Talukdar on 4th afternoon. Sri Sarad Khaitan, President welcomed all in the show. After Opening of the Show, the Prize Distribution of Winter Garden Competition 2010 was held.  An ART CAMP was organized jointly with Rotary Club of New Ballygunge, Kolkata.
Eminent artists like Sunil Das, Dhiraj Chakraborty, Subroto Gangopadhyay, Chandana Bhattacharya, Dipali Bhattacharya, Jaya Ganguli, Anup Giri, Swapan Poley etc. took part in the Art Camp. Prof. Katsuhito Kurata from Japan demonstrated techniques of Ikebana under Ikenobo style. Prize distribution and closing ceremony was held on 7 February, 2010.
Justice Shyamal K. Sen, Ex-Governor, West Bengal, Ex-Chief Justice, Allahabad High Court, Chairman, Human Rights Commission, WB and Mr. Dhiraj Chowdhury, an eminent artist were present at the Prize Distribution Ceremony / Closing Ceremony.

Attractions of the Show

  • International Photographic Salon on Nature Section. Photographic Association of Bengal will be displaying prints as well as screen slides of the Winning Photographs in RPG Hall.
  • Wafu Ikebana School of Japan under the leadership of Mrs. Kazuko Nigam 
  • Shailpik Craft Centre showed floral decoration under the leadership of Dr. Pushpanjali Basu in HBK Hall.
  • Competition of Cut Flowers took place in HBK Hall.
Winter Flower Show 2010

Winter Flower Show 2010 is being organized at the society's lawn on 8, 9 & 10 January 2010. The inauguration of the show will done by Cdre CS Azad, in-charge Naval Command, West Bengal at 3.30 pm on 8th January, 2010 and the prize distribution will be done by Sri B Bhattacharya, Chairman Tea Board, at 4 pm on 10th January, 2010. There will be a photographic exhibition from 8 to 10th January, 2010. Purshpa Bitan, a Flower Arrangement Show will be held from 8 to 10th January, 2010. Sit and Draw competition for the children aged between 6 and 16, will be held at 10 AM on 9th January, 2010.

The House Plants Expo 2009 was jointly organized by The Agri-Horticultural Society of India & Deptt. of Food Processing Industries & Horticulture, Govt. of West Bengal from 12th to 15th November 2009 at the Society’s main Lawn & H.B.Kanoi Exhibition Hall. Mango Mahotsava 2009 was organised from 12 to 14 June 2009 at the central lawn of The Agri-Horticultural Society of India. The Utsava was jointly organised by The Agri-Horticultural Society of India (AHSI), Deptt. of Food Processing Industries & Horticulture, Govt. of WB, Indian Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata in collaboration with NHB, Govt. of India, APEDA, Govt. of India & NABARD, Govt. of India.

His excellancy Sri Gopal Krishna Gandhi, Honourable Governor of West Bengal inaugurated the Mega Event in presence of distinguished dignataries in the afternoon on 12th June, 2009.

The mango show for the first time was organized in an air conditioned pavilion  in the vast field of the society to keep the exhibits fresh. Seminars and work shops  were held on 13th June and the prize distribution was held before the closing  ceremony on the afternoon of 14th June.

Good Medicine works – March 13, 2009
Interfacing with the revolution in Global Ayurveda – the captioned seminar was held at the society auditorium on 13th March, 2009. Dr. Bhaswati Bhattacharya,  Director DINacharya Institute of  New York was the key note speaker. The seminar was attended by the researchers, industry people from ayurveda and herbal medicine, the Government institutions and the members of the society. The seminar was opened with the welcome address by Sri Gaurav Swarup, President AHSI.  Dr. Bhattacharya gave her key note addresses on globalization of ayurveda and participated with the audience in question answer session. At the end of the first half of the seminar,  the official website for Global Ayurveda Convention 2009 was launched for the  7 day long international convention proposed to be held in Kolkata in the month of December, 2009. After the lunch break,  there was again interactive session and at the end,  Sri Nirupam Sen, Secretary AHSI gave the vote of thanks. The seminar was convened by Mrs. Anupama Mitra and Dr. Rehman on behalf of AHSI.
